KevinBorn in St. Louis Missouri in 1966, Kevin had a love for Soccer at an early age as well as immersing himself in the world of BMX (Bicycle Motocross). He began riding BMX bikes around 7 years old and, after playing soccer for many years, focused his efforts on BMX racing. After high-school Kevin went into the US Navy which eventually moved him to San Diego. Upon leaving the Navy he continued to learn and apply many training techniques to enhance his love for both Soccer and BMX Racing as well as some time racing Mountain Bikes.

After working in the healthcare field for almost 18 years and with considerable self study in 2005 Kevin decided to pursue his passion of personal training and massage. He was fortunate to learn from a couple masters and through constant self application has acquired considerable knowledge of the human body and continues to be fascinated by it’s capabilities, both physically and psychologically.

Kevin started Balance Point Fitness and Massage in 2005 as a trainer and massage therapist and, from early 2007 through 2012, traveled the world as a massage therapist with USA Cycling’s program to support Olympic BMX athletes in their quest for the 2008 Beijing, China and 2012 London, England Olympics. In late 2007 Kevin helped to open the first CrossFit gym in Redding and after 6 years as co-owner (and Crossfit Competitor) decided to move into a new endeavor alongside Justin Cascarina to bring a functional training model to the public that is dedicated to safety and results, but not so focused on a competition emphasis. Our focus is on smart fitness throughout the aging process!
