If you’ve been paying attention to the news and the paper lately you might have noticed a story about two adorable little kids named Rylee (age 6) and her brother Caden (age 5). Both have been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), which is an aggressive, progressive genetic disease that affects the central nervous system. It causes the loss of abilities such as walking, hearing, vision, motor skills, muscle control, memory, eating, talking, etc. and ultimately ends the life of those affected.
These two amazing children are Coach Justin’s cousins.
Unfortunately, there is no cure and treatment is very limited. The family has made efforts to be accepted into a program for children with Leukodystrophy in Italy and were successful with Caden but not with Rylee. With the current research being done acceptance into the program has the potential to extend the child’s life by approximately 15 years.
Coach Justin and the family are asking for your help and support by joining us next Saturday morning, November 15th between 8:00am and 10:00am at Logan’s Roadhouse for a Benefit Breakfast to support this worthy cause. Every bit will help offset the expensive and ever-growing medical and travel costs.
Tickets are only $8 and can be picked up at Balance Point Fitness & Athletics located at 2375 Hartnell Ave, Redding, CA 96002. Our phone number is 530.222.3481. LOGAN’S WILL BE ACCEPTING PREPAID TICKETS ONLY so make sure to get yours before Saturday, November 15th. Logan’s will be serving eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls for the benefit.
If you are interested in donating to the family you can do so by visiting www.GoFundMe.com/co1z0g or by going to Chase Bank and making a donation to the “Raising For Rylee” fund. You can follow Rylee’s and Caden’s story at https://www.facebook.com/RyleesStory.
